Equipment

Striking Gear(Youth)

Here's a list of equipment your child will need, as well as a few optional items that make class comfortable.  We've provided some links below to equipment that we trust to be both affordable, and durable.  We earn a small commission on those sales, which helps us keep the cost of classes down. Purchase as many sets as you find practical (how often you want to have to wash them...) You probably have many of these items already, or have purchased them for your child's other classes.  That stuff will work great, so long as it doesn't have any zippers or sharp/hard materials on them. If you're buying new stuff, there are a plenty of satisfactory products on both ends of the price continuum from the stuff we recommended.  We'd be happy to answer any questions you have.  Please don't hesitate to reach out!

GENERAL ITEMS

Head Gear
Required

This is like a soft helmet, and is vital to protecting your child's head during sparring.

Mouth Guard
Required

Bumps are bound to happen, even with the most courteous training partners.  A mouthguard must be worn when sparring, and is optional for drilling.

Shin Guards
Required

Muay Thai is a contact sport, and involves a lot of kicking.  Wearing shinguards will prevent injury during sparring.

Items for Around the Gym

Required

To keep the mats clean and sanitary, you are required to wear footwear that is easy to slip on.  You will also need to bring a water bottle.  A gym bag and towel are nice to keep the gym tidy during class.

Here's some examples:
